Lightsaber

The lightsaber is the standard weapon of the Jedi and resembles a sword, however the blade is a laser. The lightsaber is also used by Sith, but does not hold the same importance in their teachings as it does with the Jedi. The standard blade colors of the Jedi are blue and green, but other colors are used as well. The color represents the user of the lightsaber in some way. The standard color for the Sith is red.

General Grievous used the lightsabers of the Jedi he killed, and trained with Count Dooku, even though he could not wield the Force. Being part droid, his reflexes were quick enough to be able to challenge most of the Jedi.
