Weequay

Hair Color: Sandy Tan
Eye Color: Brown
Average Height: 1.7 meters (5 feet, 7 inches)
Homeworld: Sriluur

Looking almost identical to the human eye, the only noticeable difference was their ceremonial topknots. The number of strands on these topknots indicates the number of Sriluur years the Weequay has been away from its homeworld. When they return home, they shave these strands off. Their skin was brown and looked like leather. Their chief God was Quay, who was God of the moon. It is also the basis of their species name, for in their language, Weequay means “follower of Quay”. They are also capable of pheremonic communication which allows them to communicate without speech. On Sriluur, they live tensely with the Houk. War broke out among these two races frequently, the last one happening just before the Battle of Yavin.

Several Weequay served as guards for Jabba the Hutt, and were probably as feared as Jabba’s pet Rancor. While they stayed on Tatooine, they started a ritual of killing the Tusken Raiders’ Banthas. They became angry, due to the fact that they have a ritual bond with their Banthas, and so Jabba ordered the ritual to cease. Jabba then placed a moisture farmer at the site to make the Tusken Raiders suspicious of the humans.

Ak-Buz was the commander of Jabba’s sail barge, and was murdered one day by Dannik Jerriko. His body was hid by the cook Porcellus in the the garbage heap. They prayed to Quay to find out who had murdered Ak-Buz and if such murders would continue. They soon found out the answer, for that day Jabba was executing Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca by feeding them to the Sarlacc. Riding sand skiffs, they escorted Jabba’s sail barge. However, at the site the prisoners broke loose and started killing Jabba’s henchmen. All of the Weequay were killed either by the prisoners or by the explosion of the sail barge.
