This green and brown, semi-tropical jungle planet is the home of the Wookies who are fierce, yet loyal. The jungles consist mostly of the towering wroshyr trees. Each tree contains multiple ecosystems as you progress downward. The wookies live in the uppermost section, where they build cities supported on the massive branches. A unique feature of the wroshyr tree is that when branches meet, they grow together, which provides the stability for the cities.

The kshyyvines that grow among the trees can not be cut by blasters and can support liftcars. Banthas are imported from Tatooine and used as transports and beasts of burden. At night the phosfleas, gnatlike insects, provide light, and colored lights are set up to attract kroyies, a native bird, which is considered a delicacy.

Although wookies like to use traditional tools, they have incorporated some modern technology into their lives. They have a few landing platforms that can hold smaller, visiting ships. Their weapon of choice is the bowcaster. Some customs include life debts to people who have saved their lives or have become close friends with them and a ritual that a wookie must conduct to prove himself worthy of being an adult. That ritual has the wookie harvest silky strands from the syren, a carnivorous plant.

As you travel down the trees you progress to ecosystems that are more and more dangerous. It is said that no wookie or human has ever set foot on the ground of Kashyyyk. Also, no light can penetrate to the lowest levels.

The Imperials, who despised non-humans, took many wookies as slaves. Nineteen years after the Battle of Endor, the Dark Jedi Zekk and Nightsister Tamith Kai raided Kashyyyk to gain access to recognition codes for New Republic ships.
