Admiral Kendal Ozzel

A native of Carida, he was a second son and not the heir of his father. He joined the Imperial Navy to prove himself to his father. Many believe that he gained his position as admiral due to the connections his family had with the Imperial Navy.

Ozzel presided over the dishonorable discharge of cadet Han Solo who had disobeyed a superior and freed a Wookie slave.

Later he was put in charge of the Super Star Destroyer Executor and was in charge of the Death Squadron attacking Hoth. Because he came out of hyperspace to close to the system, the rebels had to time to prepare their escape. (It was his plan to come in this close to surprise them, but it didn't work). He was executed by Darth Vader for his failure and "being as clumsy as he is stupid." -- Darth Vader.

Admiral Ozzel was portrayed by Michael Sheard in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Ozzel was portrayed by Michael Goetz in the Radio Drama on National Public Radio.
