Count Dooku
Sex: Male
Affiliation: Jedi Order, later Confederacy of Independent Systems
Title: Jedi Master, later Sith Apprentice. Also 'Count', as leader of the Separatists.
Homeworld: Serreno
Dooku was born on the planet Serreno. As a youngling he was trained by Yoda in the Jedi arts and often progresssed to the top of his class. However, in the training games with Master Yoda, he never won. This upset him because Yoda let the other students win every now and then. This losing streak occured until Dooku was twelve. In one match, Dooku was planning on breaking his own arm to prove to the other students that Yoda was letting everyone win but him. As soon as they got into their stances, Yoda claimed, "I won!" With that Dooku realized that the lesson Yoda was trying to teach him was to break his free of his pride.
He later became the master of Qui-Gon Jinn.
Eventually he befriended Palpatine and was drawn to the dark side.
In the later part of the Clone Wars he set up his base on the planet of Vjun in the Château Malreaux. He spared the life of the Jedi Jai Maruk so that he could send a message back to Yoda. The message was for peace and a request to come back home to the Jedi Temple. This was a trap, but he knew Yoda wouldn't give up the possibility that it was true. Along with this message he sent a shell. The shell represented a conversation he had with Yoda when he was still a Padawan learner under the direction of Jedi Master Thame Cerulian. The conversation was about how hermit crabs outgrow their shells and have to move on. Dooku's worry was that he would outgrow the shell of the Jedi Temple and be alone. Yoda reassures him that he cannot outgrow the Force, and the Jedi Temple is home to all those who use the Force.
After receiving a wax candle in return, Dooku knew that Yoda would be travelling to see him. He then sent Jang Li-Li's lightsaber, which he modified, to Yoda. When activated it told Yoda to bring only Jedi, and that any attempts of military strikes, would cause Dooku to carry out the war.
Several months later, he recieved news from an irritated Darth Sidious. Sidious informed him of the Battle of Phindar Spaceport, advising him to terminate Asajj Ventress. When she contacted him about what had happened, he ordered her to return to Vjun with the intention of killing her. He knew that she foresaw this was the intention.
When Ventress returned, he had her wait for the Jedi Padawans that accompanied Yoda and take them captive while he dealt with Yoda.
He felt Yoda's presence on Vjun and sat in front of his surveillance feeds waiting for him. Dooku was startled when he heard Yoda tap on the window outside the room, five stories above ground, with his cane. When Dooku let him in, Yoda caught him off guard again by asking Dooku about the dark side. He wanted to know how he could benefit. After Dooku gave a useless argument, Yoda finally asked if the dark side could give him a rose. Dooku was not able to, and so Yoda refused to give in. In a last attempt, Yoda tried to turn him back to the light, but it was no use.
Looking at the surveillance, Dooku saw that Obi-Wan and Anakin were also on Vjun. Whirry had come back to the room to complain and Dooku used to Force to throw her out the window. As Yoda was saving her, Dooku struck at him, but was unsuccessful. A fierce duel began, and ended when Dooku used the Force to push a button on his desk, sending a missile for the château. He then jumped out the window to escape.
Near the end of the Clone Wars, Dooku's life was finally ended by Anakin in the Battle of Coruscant.
